Hinckley ACT Acoustic Music Venue
Hinckley ACT Acoustic Music Venue
Run by Keith and Pam London, the Hinckley ACT is a purpose built music venue which is helping to build an audience for first rate acoustic music acts.
An example of which would be the imminent, Hinckley ACT Festival of Music 2011.
Sunday 29th May 2011 brings a phenomenal afternoon’s entertainment to the Sketchley Grange Hotel in Hinckley – featuring:
- Rick Wakeman
- Gordon Giltrap
- Steve Hicks and Lynn Goulbourn
- Isambarde
This year they're also supporting Parkinsons’ UK and will also feature an extensive craft show and Rob Armstrong Guitar display.
This is one hell of an event and well worth supporting for all the right reasons. Don't miss it!
BBMA British Bluegrass Music Association
BBMA British Bluegrass Music Association
This is the website for the UK's only formal association for bluegrass music. Whilst the organisation has seen many up and downs over the years, it has recently been working very hard to regain it's footing both internationally and here in the UK.
Achievements: Due to recent changes in the laws affecting work permits for touring acts from abroad and especially America. The BBMA has now become a touring agency for travelling acts and is the first port of call for anyone hoping to bring over their favourite act from America. This is no mean feat and without it, many of the acts we currently see in the UK, simply wouldn't get past the first hurdle.
Are you a member? If you're not a member, please give it some thought, they do an awful lot behind the scenes which many of us take for granted and they can only do it with our support.
If you want to ask some questions, your local BBMA rep is Guy Rogers. guy@salmagundi.me.uk 07961 061489.
